Ahmed "Tekha" Tarek Selim


Ahmed (Tekha) Tarek Selim is a media studies graduate student at West Virginia State University, where he teaches four undergraduate classes, attends classes as a graduate student, and plays basketball for the university's team. He graduated in 2016 from the University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates, where he played on the UOS national championship basketball team, with a bachelor's degree in mass communications. He is well known as one of the best point guards in the Middle East. He also is the founder and CEO of his own organization Tekha Group, which sponsors seminars all over the world. Through all natural means, Ahmed was able to lose 144 pounds (65 Kg) during the 11th grade of high school; he uses his story of transformation as a way to motivate others to reach their goals. His mantra “Dream. Believe. Achieve.” already has inspired thousands to change their lives for the better. Ahmed has presented 130 seminars all over the world. He also has led his Group to work on numerous government initiatives aimed at advancing healthy lifestyles, such as Car Free Day; and programs aimed at offering healthier lunches and increased exercise in Dubai and Sharjah schools. In addition, the Group sponsors fitness contests and competitions. Also, the world’s smallest and most advanced fitness step tracker, the MymoTekha (by Tupelo), is named after Tekha.
